Distribution
Tropical and subtropical regions worldwide: Hawaii, Florida, Louisiana, Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, Thailand, Philippines, India, Australia, France, Cuba, Paraguay, Indonesia, Costa Rica. Pantropical distribution.
Habitat
Coprophilous (dung-inhabiting) species. Grows on cattle and buffalo dung in tropical and neotropical pastures. Found in fertilized grasslands, pastures, and fields where large herbivores graze. Prefers warm, humid tropical environments.
Season
Year-round in tropical climates. In subtropical areas, peaks during warm, wet months. Fruits abundantly after heavy rains. In tropical pastures, can appear any time with adequate moisture and warmth.

psilocybin, psilocin
Symptoms
Strong nausea during onset (common with potent species). Pronounced blue bruising of entire mushroom on handling. Dilated pupils, increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure. Due to high potency, effects come on stronger and faster than less potent species. Risk of overwhelming experience for inexperienced users.
Hallucinogenic Effects

Favoured by experienced users for the intensity and depth of the experience. Can be overwhelming. Timeline: Effects begin 15-45 minutes after ingestion, peak at 2-3 hours, total duration 4-7 hours. Faster onset than many Psilocybe species.
